Our Passion

We are passionate about live music. It truly has the remarkable ability to inspire, uplift, and bring joy to people's lives. Music is transformative and really a 'fixx for the soul'.

Houston-based band, Soul Fixx, embodies a soulful blend of genres ranging from blues and rock to Americana and pop. At the heart of Soul Fixx is the dynamic Shanti Herrington, who commands velvety lead vocals and warm rhythm guitar with captivating energy bringing emotional depth to her singing and Lisa Herrington who plays drums, bongos, and djembe, channeling the spirit of groove laying down rhythm steeped in blues, soul and jazz blending them into the pocket so deep you could get lost in it. Soul Fixx collaborates with various talented musicians in the Houston music scene. Stephen Ketner, who is an exceptional talent as a recording engineer, musician and vocalist, joins in on lead guitar. Deeply inspired by blues and jazz, his expressive playing carries both precision and emotion, creating solos that are soulful, immersive and impossible to forget. With every note, Stephen has a way of drawing listeners in and letting the music completely take over. D'Adario endorsed artist, JP Lee also joins at times on lead. JP blends melodic rock clarity, singer-songwriter sensitivity and a Texas bred blues edge. His rhythm is groovy, his leads are melodic first, technical second, weaving lyrical phrases that feel composed rather than showy. Overall, his playing bridges several genres. When Soul Fixx is a full 4-piece band, Katherine O'Brien steps in on bass with a deep, in-the-pocket groove that anchors the whole band. Her playing blends a soulful touch with a rhythmic R&B sensibility and just the right amount of rock grit. She delivers tasteful lines that highlight her technical skill without ever overcrowding the music - always serving the song first, always right where it needs to be.
